In the heart of West Altadena, rising from the ashes of the Eaton Fire, the community unites for the 3rd annual Earth Day Altadena on April 19, 2026 (3–7 PM) at Solvang Garden, 280 Crosby Street.
Under the theme “Making Change Where We Stand,” this free, family-friendly, community event celebrates the Altadena/Pasadena “Dena” communities’ enduring spirit through music, art, and land-based healing. It’s a living act of resilience—transforming grief into growth, and isolation into connection.
Experience powerful performances by fire-impacted artists: Mayeya, a dynamic ensemble led by Peruvian percussionist Diana Andrea Soto Teixeira, weaving Afro-Cuban Orisha rhythms and ancestral wisdom; and the Earthseed Band, a genre-blending collective led by sitarist / composer Paul Livingstone and featuring legendary LA-based jazz singer, improviser, and activist Dwight Trible.
The event features vegan food, produce from Altadena Farmers Market, and free plants from Altadena Wild. Altadena Green will provide tree assessments. Additional services from eco-vendors and community builders—all committed to sustainable, nature-rooted recovery will be offered as well. Held at Solvang Garden, a sanctuary amid fire-scarred homes, Earth Day Altadena is more than a celebration: it’s a declaration of renewal.
Presented by Soul Force Project, United Nations Association Pasadena, Dena Hive Consortium, and Dena United with support from Evolve Altadena, Green Circle.
