ART, AWARENESS, & ACTIVISM

Join us for a transformational weekend of world music and spiritual jazz inspiration. We are a city-wide collaboration of performing artists, diverse organizations, scientists and celebrating the universal power of music. The festival presents the story of Soul Force; a journey of redemption in the historical narrative of nonviolent action. Creative and traditional performances are supported by multi-media projections, dynamic speakers & poets in a call to action for Earth Day.

The festival is a collaboration with our host venue, First United Methodist Church of Pasadena. Together, we are committed to building bridges to inspire inter-faith action and awareness around issues of climate change and sustainability. We recognize the urgent need for creative action and the development of a new consciousness around the consumption of resources. The need to change is a matter of life and death, as we realize the threat to the most vulnerable human communities and species of life on the planet.

We are now seeking individuals and organizations to partner with us to reach new and diverse audiences of all ages. We are also coordinating ticket accessibility to students and local young musicians and artists through outreach to public and private schools around Pasadena.

SLOW CONSCIOUSNESS

In ritual performance, we practice being fully present to music over extended periods; that way we may experience the deep sense of connection that attention affords. Slowing down helps
us cultivate a deeper presence, free from the ordinary distractions of our daily routines.

In this festival we encourage you to realize a ‘slow consciousness’ weekend. Take a time out, unplug from digital distractions,
and experience this festival as a refuge for your spirit…
